Because it was designed and printed right here in the Melrose Center!  If you are planning to visit us this weekend for the First Anniversary celebration, you’ll have a chance to see a special version of the 3D print on display in the Fab Lab.

Melrose Center First Anniversary Contest

Award Categories

It’s hard to believe that almost a year has gone by since the opening of the Melrose Center. We are in the process of planning its first anniversary celebration which will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from noon to 5pm. We would like to recognize the work produced by the users of the Melrose Center. The Orange County Library System is pleased to announce its first annual Melrose Award in the categories of Film, Audio, Photography, Web & Graphic Design, Maker: 3D Design, Electronics, Engineering, and Gaming & Computer Programming.

We would like to extend this special invitation to you to participate. To submit your work that you have produced in the Melrose Center, please be sure to first read the contest rules to see if you qualify. You can make submissions in one or more categories. Submissions must meet the requirements of the contest rules. A Melrose or Orange County Library card in good standing is required.

The deadline for submission has been extended to January 20 and voting to January 25. You can vote in one or more categories. One vote per category is allowed. A Melrose or Orange County Library card in good standing is required for voting.

The winners for each category and the overall winner will be announced at the First Anniversary Event: Saturday, February 7, 2015. Don’t forget to also check out the prizes to see what you can win. We wish you all the best in your submission if you do choose to partake in this award opportunity

Melrose Center on the Radio!

Ormilla on Radio Show

This past Friday we had an opportunity to participate in a series of interviews on My Hometown with Jim Turner – 1520 WBZW. The show was conducted live at the library’s North Orange Branch. Ormilla Vengersammy, Melrose Center’s Department Head, joined other library staff members to talk about many of the library’s popular services. It was a neat experience seeing how library patrons engaged and interacted with those participating in the interview.
