Dear Diary: Melrose in the Mix featuring Swamp Sistas

Dear Diary,

This upcoming Saturday, we are going to host our first Melrose in the Mix. It will be the first in a series of intimate in-studio recording performances as Orlando singer-songwriter Beth McKee brings her assembled Swamp Sistas Songwriters Circle to the Melrose Audio Studio for a special afternoon session. Beth will be joined by Hannah Harber, Renee Arozqueta and Ka Malinalli, as the Circle takes turns performing original material and accompanying one another before a small studio audience–all while being recorded. Seating for this is very limited, so we hope folks register¬†for that soon. There are also a few opportunities to sign on as recording assistants, but interested members must have either Live Room or Full Audio Studio Access. We hope this will give all participants an inside look at live recording…and have fun while doing it!

Im looking for Podcast help? Do you teach that at Melrose center?

While we don’t teach a class specific to podcasting, we do have classes that can help! Our Microphone Theory classes take you through the theory and practice of microphone technology, from choosing the right microphone to recording techniques. We also offer a Sound Booth Fundamentals class, to help you record it right the first time. These classes are free with your Orange County Library card, as is access to our sound booths after completion of a General Orientation for the Melrose Center. If you reside outside of our service area, no worries – we have additional options for you! You may visit us at tic.ocls.info for more information.
