Adobe Illustrator in Art and Design

As we continue to watch educational developments in STEM, we’re planning new curriculum content to share with our community.  Last week we gave you a sneak peak at the Introduction to Engineering using K’NEX® curriculum, currently in the design phase.  This week, we would like to announce Adobe Illustrator.  This two-hour class will cover all the essential tools as participants learn to design their own logo and business card.  So whether you are an artist intrigued by designing in a digital art space or a small business owner who needs a striking logo, join us for this class, coming in June to the Orlando Public Library.

Technology Roadshow

Staff at the Library enjoyed exploring new library technologies.  The MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer was featured while staff members had a first-hand look as it printed a bracelet prototype.  Staff also tested another popular technology offering, Snap Circuits which are used to learn the basics of electronics. As you can see from the photos, staff members had a great time as they learned how to snap together circuits for a working flying saucer and a door alarm.

If you want to join the fun, our next Snap Circuits “Funshop” will be held at the Orlando Public Library on Saturday, March 2 at 10am.  We will also have a 3D Printing Workshop featuring the MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer on the same day at 11.30am.  Spaces are limited, so reserve yours todaySee workshop information for more details on requirements to attend.
