The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Join Code School and the Melrose Center for a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to demystify code.

No experience needed. Ages 4 to 104.

Parking is available at the Library Garage located at 112 East Central Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32801.
Parking will be validated for two-hours for attendees using the Library Garage.

AGENDA

Play interactive games, complete self-guided code challenges, take hands-on classes in introductory programming languages, attend talks from local technology leaders, and enter to win prizes.

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. | Ages 4+
Open Code / The Foos / Interactive Media Wall

Help the Foos solve problems using code at the Interactive Media Wall. Pre-readers welcome!
4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Ages 4+
Open Code / Hour of Code / Editing Workstations

Try an hour of code with self paced tutorials from Code School, Code Studio and Code Spark. Volunteers will be available to get you started.
Note that the use of personal devices is encouraged. Headphones are required to hear challenge instructions.
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Ages 6+
Code Class / Minecraft / Melrose Classroom

Use blocks of code to take Steve or Alex on an adventure through a 2D Minecraft world. Registration is required.

Come to a one-hour session where Code School instructors James and Alyssa will walk you through HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! These three web languages will help you to create living & breathing applications online.
