Melrose’s Hope to Encourage Entrepreneurs

The Orlando Sentinel’s Tech Check featured an interview with Mr. Melrose regarding his thoughts on entrepreneurship and what the Melrose Center’s role could be for someone with dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.

Melrose has poured $1.5 million into the Orange County Public Library, establishing a tech center to encourage others to pursue their entrepreneurial ideas.

“It’s a catalyst for people to think beyond documents or think beyond what they thought a library was before,” Melrose, 75, told the Orlando Sentinel. “It spurs the idea of entrepreneurship and makes people more comfortable saying, ‘I’d like to form my own company and do something I’ve never thought of before.’”

The article was published in anticipation of the Melrose Center’s 2nd Anniversary, which takes place Saturday, February 6, starting at 11:00 AM.
